How to check pdf cmyk or rgb

This selection will use the colour conversion profile of the document you are converting. You can if you prefer select one of the other profiles from the drop down. You will then get a pop-up to notify you that the changes you are about to make can not be undone, so if you need to keep the original save another version or duplicate the file.

You can control everything from InDesign yourself. Do not use a website. The main risk would be transforming, for example, black text to a CMYK black text. All you need is Adobe Acrobat. If you are sending the file to print it must be CMYK format. It only becomes relevant if it is going to be printed. CMYK generates better color matching in images within the file. To check the file first you need to open the file using Adobe Acrobat.

Everything that is CMYK in your file should still be in place. If however certain images are missing then these are most likely to have been saved as RGB. Any images that now appear are RGB files.
