Any help would be appreciated. Hi, I had the same problem i did test the lan connection and got speeds up to 80 to 90 mbs but the nic i had in the nas was not good so i got 2 more nic's from intell and and pared them up now a have no more problems with file transfer.

I tried the above samba conf change, restarted samba service, seems to be the same situation. If anybody would care to chime in with the next idea I would appreciate it. Greetings David. For reference, in the process of trying to fix this before posting here I did several reboots, switched between several kernels and kernel versions, downgraded and upgraded samba several times and modified the smb. So the plain old strategy of turning it off and on again does not explain this :D.

Glad you solved it, though I'm genuinely surprised removing the socket options had no effect. So the plain old strategy of turning it off and on again does not explain this. Now I'm completely confused.

So this looks very much like I'm the core of the problem , BUT in my defense, I know as I git my configs I added the socket options after the slow speeds occurred as I hoped it might fix the issue. The samba server was fast for months before. The speed drop happened after I did some updates, reorganized hard drives and turned on encryption, without me even touching smb.
