Canadian war museum over top game

You awake on a chilly November morning, with barely five hours of sleep, to face yet another day of misery on the Western Front Rubbing your eyes, you stretch and then put on the boots which you had left by the side of your cot. A quick glance around the cramped confines of your dugout reveals that most of your companions have already waken and are in the process of shaving and brushing their teeth.

And not a peep from Jerry either. Just then, a tall, thin looking man peers his head inside your dugout. You recognize him as Lieutenant Jarvis, your platoon commander. Of course, the Germans knew you were waiting for them and so never attacked this early in the morning.

The interactive element derives from the ability of the user to select varying outcomes to the story. In effect, the user assumes the role of a Canadian infantryman somewhere along the Somme sector of the front in the fall of and is required, at regular intervals, to make decisions by clicking on one of a number of probable outcomes.

Poor decisions may cut short the adventure, prompting users to rethink their decisions and select alternate outcomes. You stumble, half numb, back towards your own dugout. All around you, bandaged men are being led to the rear lines to receive medical treatment while the dead are covered with ground-sheets and blankets to be buried later. Just outside the dugout, you come across two stretcher bearers who carry away an agonizing Lieutenant Jarvis. A quick glance his way tells you that he has lost both legs.

It is strange to think that in order to return home, one must either be crippled or dead. Yes, I would say that Over the Top is innovative for these reasons: 1. How the game looks like. Where to make your choices. Low-graphic literary version. Use of online dictionary in game. Email required Address never made public. Name required.
