Audi a3 sportback 2.0 tdi sport 140ps manual

Comfortable ride. CONS : Quite expensive. The car has a 6-spd manual gearbox and delivers bhp. It has torque figures of lb-ft and a mph time of 9. At full tank 55 liters it covers miles.

It has a top speed of mph and a combined mpg of It handles quite well and gives a comfortable ride. The steering is light and thus not involving so do not expect to get a kick out of driving this car. The seats are well-set and comfortable. They can also be adjusted for additional comfort. However, there are a lot of instruments and control buttons which look similar on the dashboard. This is the only area where Audi makers did not do a thorough job.

It will take you a while to get used to each one of them. You are also likely to press the wrong button a couple of times but eventually they will become familiar. The A3 Sportback 2. It is the largest in the trim and has a spacious cabin and interior. A 5-door, 5-seat hatchback , it can seat four adults comfortably, with room for luggage. The additional two doors make it easier to get in and out of than its A3 3-door sister.

For its price, standard equipment in the car is limited. You get stability control, central locking, power steering, air conditioning, electric doors and front window mirrors, immobilizer, alarm, driver airbags, passenger airbags and front side airbags.

The media console only comes with a CD player. An upgrade will cost you quite a bit, considering how many additional features you require. Most of these options are crucial and a must-have for most motorists. Add the total cost to the initial cost of the car and you may just change your mind about buying it in the first place. There is plenty of space in the cabin, particularly for the driver and front passenger. Rear cabin space is larger than in the three-door but still wanting.

Taller passengers in the two extreme rear seats will feel cramped back there. Boot space is big enough for average luggage. With the seats up, you get litres in a perfect shape. Fold down the rear seats and you have a total of liters of space. The only problem is that the perfect boot shape is distorted and you get a stepped area in its place, which is not convenient for luggage that needs to be spread out.

The A3 has the same high quality build that more expensive Audi models have. You can tell that the engineering is superb from how the car feels and responds to your road commands.

Expect to enjoy trouble-free service from your A3 for a long while. As long as you drive carefully though, you have nothing to worry about as the car is packed with standard safety features such as electronic stability control, electronic brake-force distribution, seat belt pre-tensioners, central locking, deadbolts and airbags.

Granted, the A3 2. It, however, has a strong resale value, thanks to consumer demand. Should you decide to change cars along the way, you can be sure that you will recoup a good percentage of the original price.

It has moderate running costs and is not known to break down frequently. Should it stall, the 3 year service warranty up to 60, miles will take care of the expenses. Expect average insurance premiums as it falls under group As the for coolant prob, i usually check my car regularly oil, water etc so should be ok.

As for the pourous head.. Cheers mate! Still not too bad and from what i know, dsg's drink a bit more juice than a manual dont they? So basically, if i check my coolant, i should be ok? Thats not too bad Will let ya'll know how it goes! BTW, is there regional meets on in this forum? In the Manchester area? I just bought an 03 A3 and luckily i have warranty from the garage, as there is something wrong with my head gasket now, i dont know much at all on cars lol.

When driven normal and in D mode they are more economical than manual. Hi Recently sold my 54 plate from new A3 2. My daughter has the 2. A great little car thats why I have spent a fortune on the cabrio. Amchlolor Registered User. Gti Jazz Blue said:. DSG is basically a computer controlled manual. No it isn't.

It's an auto that lets you play at changing the gears yourself, a bit. Even then, it's auto tendencies will over-ride you will still change up at high revs for you, even in manual mode. If buying a 2. Some seem to be okay, loads seem to drink the stuff. All our fleet 2. I've not had, nor heard of any real warranty issues with DSG Big common problems Steering racks Drivers seats passenger seats glove box lids Problems "apparently" only existant on my A3 wheel bearings.

Problems "apparently" only existent on my A3 wheel bearings. Lex Registered User. Lex, I remember you from uk-mkivs. Eeef Lord of War. Nope, mine had knackered wheel bearings too. It's a dog. I really wish there was a website I could post that on. Where prospective buyers could check, like an HPI check.

Can you imagine the fuss the motor trade would make? Thx Trist. Mine has been realiable so far, only complaint is the crashy ride and the rear parcel shelf rattles on realy bumpy roads. I get an overall MPG of 38, but alot of my time is spent thrashing round country roads.

Wont you find it too tame??? I'm 23 and hope to move out at , so I'll need savings. Wise choice of engine imo. A remap will see , and with it being a diesel you'll see all the torque, which is what you want. I've got a bhp 1. Go for it and enjoy the car and savings. Gold Supporter. I do alot of motorway diving and i get about mpg all the time, when i trash it i get about mpg but i dont do it much. Is it the one you mentioned at the start? If so, sounds good. Check for service history etc etc and try to find out if its had a replacement head worth knowing and if the cambelt has been changed or due!

And DSG haldex oil change is every 40k. Last edited: May 13, I think you will tire of the A3 very quickly over the ST. For the audi, make sure it has had the DSG fluid and service history, it might also need to have a cambelt so check to see if this has been done.

I had not rattles with the A3 but the drivers door handle kept working its way loose and i gave up at the second attempt, also the drivers seat sags on cars with leather. What do I ned to check with the DSG, the oil etc?

I just want a really tidy quality car and cheaper to run than the ST, my age doesnt help! What I did was try to find out where the car had been serviced during its life and rang all the dealerships where it had been and got full details of all services etc done. Some were good enough to send me copies too! As said, DSG haldex changes are every 40k, so check this has been done, cambelts are every 60k I think but could be 80k, cant remember! Just a few pointers, hope it helps.

Make sure you get a very good test drive, try it hot and cold and in town traffic as the gearbox can be jerky and there is a slight hesitation to it, all of this gets worse if the unit shows signs of impending failure, its best to use the search buttion to see other issues. There are plenty of people that love DSG and a few that don't I fall in the few that don't. Oh and SLine suspension is very hard. SteveTDCi said:. Probs with the DSG is putting me off big time!!!

Good car for a young age i think, it has a bit of poke it's not the most exciting car but its seems to have alot grip. Yeah i found it to have pretty good grip, but its a bit boat like and boring handling wise, mines a sport the sline maybe better but nothing a set of coilovers wont cure.
